Overview - Artificial neural networks (ANNs) constitute our best understanding of visual object recognition in the brain. Still, how the brain represents rich, high-level features beyond identity remains to be fully understood. We use faces to probe how the brain encodes fine-grained 3D object geometry and immersive 3D visual scenes to probe how the brain integrates images to form a coherent representation of space and the arrangement of multiple objects in it.
